SERVICES

The Inwood Merchant Association works to foster businesses and community growth. In addition to our year-round advocacy efforts, through our signature events we seek to drive commerce and sustain the vibrancy of the district. With the support of NYC SBS Neighborhood 360 program, we also provide much needed sanitation services in the commercial corridors of Inwood.

TASTE OF UPTOWN

Is a FREE, food festival, in celebration of the diverse restaurants and culture, that Uptown holds. As one of Uptown’s newest traditions, we hope to increase its success, as a tool for exposure, and visibility. In 2019 Taste of Uptown hosted 23 restaurants donating free food, a marvelous band, and 500 people.

UPTOWN RESTAURANT WEEK

Is a two-week celebration of the diverse restaurants located in Inwood and Washington Heights. This event will be held yearly in October. Each restaurant offers a prefixed dinner menu. An appetizer, entrée, and a dessert, for $34.95.

DYCKMAN’S HOLIDAY TREE AND CORRIDOR LIGHTS

Located on Dyckman and Broadway, the Holiday Tree brings the spirit of the season to the commercial district of Inwood. This is the first Holiday Tree of its kind with full public access display around the clock. During its inaugural lighting ceremony in 2020, merchants and residents joined in virtually to uplift their spirits during the COVID-19 pandemic and establish a new neighborhood tradition.

NETWORKING EVENTS

Networking events are held at least once quarterly. They are an opportunity for small businesses to gather, share their concerns, points of success, and learn. Each event hosts presentations from representatives of various fields that are of interest to, or affect small businesses. These are an opportunity to discuss and become informed.

ADVOCACY

Our advocacy for the growth and development of small businesses in Inwood is relentless and continues. We maintain a pulse on the commercial district and listen to the concerns of business owners. We share these concerns with city agencies and stakeholders to ensure decisions and policies are made in the best interest of merchants and the Inwood community at large.

SANITATION

With funding support from NYC SBS Neighborhood 360° program, we keep the Inwood commercial corridor clean, by providing partial sanitation services in the area. Over 10,000 bags of garbage are collected in an 6-month average by our crew. We strive to support merchants in their efforts to maintain our streets clean and safe.
